“Matrie", in “La dernière” of l’Orient le jour’s newspaper, published the12th october 2024, part of a serie intitled “Illustrators and the war in Lebanon”

This drawing embodies all these women: those who stay and fight, those who have gone into exile, those who fled. The woman, almost crushed but carrying an uprooted cedar tree, represents resistance against the aggression. Her raised fist, a symbol of defiance, expresses a fierce struggle. It also evokes exile: carrying her history and roots to settle elsewhere without ever breaking the connection with her homeland.
